All District Audition Information


Who
  • Participants: Middle school and high school band students.
  • Organizers/Contacts: * Terry Reid: Northwest District Chairman (General inquiries).
    • Hunter Soots: Middle School Audition Chair.
    • Mandy James: High School Audition Chair.
  • Directors: Must be current NAFME members with paid district fees. Note: Directors who register students are required to judge on audition day.
What
  • The Event: In-person All District honors band auditions.
  • Requirements: Students must perform all-state scale requirements (major scales tongued, chromatic slurred), a solo with specific cuts, and sight-reading.
  • Registration Fees: * Standard: $10 per student, per instrument.
    • Late: $20 per student, per instrument.
    • Note: Only school or booster checks are accepted (payable to NCMEA).

  • To provide students the opportunity to audition for the Northwest District honors bands through a "blind" audition process, ensuring high standards of musical performance and regional representation.
